Commercial Property Insurance

Policies

Why not have your business's insurance at the same agency as your personal? Your business faces risks each and every day. KGS Insurance offers products and liability coverage to protect you and your business.

Erie Insurance offers some excellent package policies that include both your property and liability needs for your business. They also include many "extra coverages" that you may not think of until you need them. These are included at no additional cost to your premium. Erie also includes a higher-than-industry average fire legal liability limit.

Property Coverage in the business policies can include:

  • Building coverage - This is your building and any permanent attachments. Coverage is on a replacement cost basis and comprehensive perils can be provided.
  • Business Personal Property - This is your personal property, that of others, and improvements you have made. This is provided on a comprehensive perils coverage basis.
  • Income Protection - Coverage if you have a loss of business income from business interruption due to a covered loss.
  • Many additional extras such as: Signs, lights, fences, trees, shrubs, employee dishonesty, electronic data processing equipment, valuable papers, accounts receivable and many more are included!
You can purchase some extras like earthquake coverage, mechanical and electrical breakdown coverage, peak season coverage, and sewer/drain back-up, to mention a few.

Liability Coverage in the business package policies can include:

  • Bodily injury and property damage that you or an employee cause
  • Personal and Advertising Injury to include libel, slander, defamation of character, etc.
  • Products and Completed Operations
  • Host Liquor Liability
  • Fire Legal Liability
  • - - and more

You can purchase some additional liability for non-owned and hired autos, additional insured, and some classes of professional liability.

These Business Package policies are great for many business owners. We service Contractors, Landscapers, Offices, Professionals, Churches, Retail Stores, Restaurants, Machine Shops, Beauty Shops and Barbers, and many more! The package will be tailored to your individual business's needs.

We also carry other business insurance you may need, including:

Employment Practices Liability Insurance - Are you hiring or firing any employees this year? EPLI coverage protects you the employer from employee claims of discrimination, wrongful termination, or harassment. With today's numerous lawsuits involving disgruntled employees, you can protect your business from large expenses if even for just defense costs. The cost of coverage is based on number of employees, how much coverage you choose, and the deductible you purchase. Third party coverage can be purchased to cover you from these claims by customers, clients, or vendors too.

BCL (Business Catastrophe Liability) - This is for excess liability coverage over the amount you may carry on a general liability or auto liability policy. If your current limits are exhausted in a lawsuit, this policy can cover you with an additional $1 to 5 million dollars. The value is worth the cost in the event your business assets are at stake in a lawsuit.

Garage Auto - This policy is great for auto service shops and auto dealerships. Whether you service or sell new and/or used cars, this policy covers you and your inventory on your premises. You can also include specific cars that your business owns and dealer tags that are linked to your business. The policy also includes fire legal liability in the event you are a tenant in a building.

Apartment buildings/Property Owners - This policy covers buildings with multiple tenants. Your building is protected as well as yourself with liability coverage on the premises included in this policy. This policy also covers for loss of rental income in the event of a covered loss that displaces your tenants. We still recommend your tenants acquire renters insurance to cover their own personal property.
